NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION PROTOCOL
If you are planning to have NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION (laughing gas) for your surgical appointment, please follow these instructions:
- You may wish to have an adult accompany you to and from your appointment, and to stay with you until you are fully recovered from the effects of the laughing gas. You are advised to refrain from making any important decision while under the influence of these sedative medications.
- Please do not take any self-administered sedative medications, in advance of your arrival at the office. You will be given a dosage appropriate for you, based on our pre-operative assessment. Please advise Dr. Eidinger immediately upon your arrival if you have self-medication in advance of your arrival to the office.
- Do not smoke or drink alcohol for 24 hours prior to your surgery.
- Arrangement for payment of office fees must be made in advance of your procedure, as payment will not be accepted while you are under the influence of sedative medications.
- Please bring your HEALTH CARD with you to your appointment, so that you may be able to receive a prescription for pain medications, if indicated.
- Patients with diabetes are asked to bring their glucometer with them to their appointment.
